How to Request Funding Through IRC
1.
Plan your program and set up a budget to
assess how much you wish to request from IRC. If you are a Hall Council, fill out the
Residence Council Drawing Fund Form.
If multiple Hall Councils are putting on a program together, fill
out the Hall Collaboration Form. The
Wellness Drawing Fund is for groups to hold programs that are educational,
humanitarian, or promote healthy living choices that are open to a large
percentage of campus. All forms must
be submitted with a typed rationale and exact price breakdown in order for
the reading to be placed on the agenda.
Forms can be downloaded from this website or picked up from the
Student Association office, College Union Room 316.
2.
Requests are due before 12 noon on Friday
to go on to the agenda for the upcoming Monday. Any request turned in after that time
will be treated as if it were for the following week.
3.
If the amount requested from IRC is for
$75.00 or less, it will go through a one reading process. If the request is for $75.01 or more, it
becomes a two reading process, with the second reading occurring at the
next business meeting. Please plan
accordingly.
4.
IRC typically funds 50% of a program’s
budget due to limited resources. We
encourage Hall Councils and other groups to look at many different forms of
funding along with IRC (such as Geneseo Late Knight, CAS grants, etc). We cannot fund sales tax.
5.
Drawing Fund Forms must be turned in to the
Student Association office, College Union Room 316, to one of the following
people by 12 noon Friday:
Nancy Chirico: Student Association Administrative Assistant
Kate Rebban: Student Association Director of Programs,
Personnel, and Finances
Katelyn Conway: Inter-Residence Council Chair
Things to Remember When Placing a Request
·
Requests must
be turned in before 12 noon on Friday for it to appear on the
following Monday’s agenda.
·
The person who listed on the form as the
Reading Presenter must attend the
IRC meeting. If the Reading
Presenter cannot attend, the Drawing Fund Form must be amended during
Approval of the Agenda to reflect a new reading presenter. If not, the reading will either be tabled
or failed.
·
Any program that receives funding from IRC
must have the IRC and Student Association (SA) logo on all means of
publicity for the program.
Additionally, electronic publicity must include the phrases
“Supported by Mandatory Student Activities Fees” and “Supported by the
Inter-Residence Council.” Logos can
be obtained from this website or in stamp form in the SA office.
·
Resident Assistants (RAs) cannot be the Reading Presenter for
a program. They can be an Event
Contact Person, but only if there is sufficient collaboration between the
RA and Hall Council.
·
If a program involves fundraising, approval
must have been obtained prior to the meeting through the College Union
Fundraising Form, as all campus fundraisers must be approved by the
Director of College Union and Activities.
(Forms may be obtained from College Union Room 321). Fundraisers should benefit legitimate
charitable organizations. Hall
Council budgets may not profit from an IRC sponsored fundraiser.
·
If a program requires a contractual
agreement, the contract must have been reviewed by the Student Association
President prior to the reading being submitted. Once approved by the General Assembly,
the contract must receive final approval by the SA President.
·
A Hall Council in Bad Financing Standing
cannot request funding from IRC.
